Christmas Piano Concert (Passport Event)

Event Description:

Fulfilling a Culture and Arts Passport activity, this Passport Event titled “Piano Christmas Concert” features a combination of Christmas carols and popular holiday songs in the Swan Auditorium. To provide a scholarly component, the program handout offers a brief history of each tune. The performance itself begins with a rudimentary exercise to show how one might develop one’s own arrangement(s) from scratch followed by a demonstration of same for the duration—a medley at the keyboard by Dr. Ernst to provide a tranquil moment of seasonal meditation in musical form.
